Prominent Ear

This condition refers to when the helixes are overly visible, making the ears appear large, wide, and unattractive. The operation will address this issue to give the overall facial appearance a more balanced look.

Recommended for:

  • Individuals who wish to address their ears for a more balanced overall facial  appearance.

Operation details:

After applying anesthesia, the surgeon will cut open the conchal skin around 3-4 cm in length, and then will selectively break cartilages to narrow down the pinna. The surgeon will then stitch the postauricular tissue to the conchal tissue, hiding the cut in the concha.

Post-operational treatments:

  1. Clean the area daily, avoid contact with water.

  2. Suture removal after 2 weeks.

  3. Avoid sleeping on the side on top of the ear for 1 month

  4. Swelling will typically be less noticeable after 3 months.

Possible side-effects:

Although very unlikely, there may be a possibility of keloid around the cut.

How long will the change last?

The change will last a lifetime.
